SCHOOL INFO
Hapnot Collegiate is a secondary school located in
Flin Flon, Manitoba, it is apart of the Flin Flon School Division as
many other schools like Ecole McIsaac, Ruth Betts Elementary School, and
Many Faces (Formerly Parkdale). It has two floors and a basement level, the two floors contain the usual stuff that a school has, classrooms, washrooms, benches in the main stairwell, a library, and a student services room. Although, I've heard that there used to be a shooting range within the school down in the basement (Now being utilized as a janitors office). It's presumed that the school started somewhere around in the 30s, utilizing a former building that was location on the site where Ruth Betts would be, next to Terrence School, before the building of the school between 1950-1952.
Every single year for the grads, they do some sort
of parade around the city of Flin Flon, it depends on what they choose
to celebrate the end of the semester as Sometimes they use water
guns/balloons to shoot/throw at) before doing the usual stuff like doing
a graduation walk into the schools they used to attend at, an example
being of a home video in 1992, using their own personal vehicles written
with messages or decorations on them and drive throughout the city. There's nothing really special about the school to me, as it's just like any other high school, apart from "interesting" individuals within the school. I'm unsure weather if there had been someone notable who attended at the school, although, although, the entirety of the FFSD has had some notable people with Bobby Clarke, Reggie Leach, and Reid Simpson. SOME RAMBLING ABOUT THE SCHOOL: The school does have a history of changes though, as the building we have today was built in the 1950s, with another school being utilized before then, the history of the school goes far back as the 30s as shown by the photos of graduated students in the main lobby.
There are some interesting things that do happen
in the school from time to time, as in a few weeks (6/3/26), former
students of Hapnot are returning for a reunion, Class of '76 I
presume it was. |
